Written in loving memory of my grandmother, Roshan Taraporevala (1933- 2024). Growing up in Mumbai, India, I spent much of my childhood with my grandparents. My grandmother Roshan was the first to start me on the piano, teach me chess, draw and spent time with me. She influenced much of who I am today. An educator, author, mother, grandmother, reader and pianist, Roshan influenced so many of those in her life. The poem was constructed by a combination of thoughts, poetry, writing and reflections from my two sisters, Kayan and Katy, and my father, Kai. Using their words and my own, this poem and piece emerged, to honor my grandmother, Roshan.
